In my last post, I went into detail about the convenience of using the internet as a tool to reach our Harley goals. No sooner had I posted did an ad appear in my local Craigslist that stopped me in proverbial tracks. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case these words speak more about the seller than they do the bike.
First allow me to direct your attention to the background. Clearly this bike isn’t stored in a shed, shanty, or lean-to but rather in the seller’s living room. It’s a safe bet that this seller is a male and single at that. It’s also safe to assume there are spare bike parts in his dresser drawers and riding gear in his refrigerator.
Next notice how the computer sits behind the bike, nearly lost to the background while his prized possession gleams in the center of the room. Clearly this seller has his priorities in check.
Now look beneath the bike- no oil catch pan, newspaper, or plastic tarp. The seller has so much faith in the fluid-containing abilities of his bike that one has to stop and wonder if this really is a
Harley. Either this seller likes to live dangerously or he is so financially secure that he can afford to use expensive rugs to keep oil off his hardwood floors.
Considering that the ad contained nothing more than this photo and a phone number, it is probably not a bad thing that he selected a picture that helps us get to know him so well.
