I sometimes hear people discussing motorcycle safety training. Most often I hear things like “My wife is bugging me to ride, should I get her safety training?” My first reaction to this kind of question is NOOOO!!!!!! Don’t let her start riding. You’ll have to pay for two of everything!
Then I settle down and respond with the usual “You’d be stupid NOT to get her training.”
(Believe it or not, I’ve only been punched in the nose twice for insinuating that a biker was stupid in this type of situation.)
Once in a while I hear experienced bikers talking about taking the course to get discounts for insurance or other things. My first reaction here is Why? You already know how to start, stop, turn, and find that shift-lever thingy that you’ll probably never use anyway, what’s the point?
Instead of a beginner course, take an advanced course so you can actually learn something and have some fun at the same time. It may be more expensive, but the payout is well worth it, and it may pay for itself in discounts.
