There are many types of bikers that ride for many different reasons. But people that ride Harley’s usually have very specific reasons. Which of these reasons’ best fits the reason you bought a Harley instead of a Japanese or European bike?
…
- - It’s American, Dammit!
- - You know it’s a Harley before you can see it, unless it’s a VW without a muffler
- - It won’t seem like a mid-life crisis when you buy one because of a mid-life crisis
- - The cops will probably leave you alone because they won’t know if you’re a biker or a lawyer
- - Don’t need to know what fuel injection or ram-air induction is
- - People will always look at you, unless they’re jealous
- - Even the slow ones are cool
- - When you turn it on, it returns the favor
- - It vibrates like a pacemaker
- - It vibrates like a vibrator
- - Us fat bastards have to ride, too
What’s your reason?

I’m very tempted to reply with #11, well I will reply with #11. Plus, I wanted to get back on a Harley after selling my last one to get a Goldwing. The wing is great for the long distances i like to travel but I still love the simplicity, look, and feel of HD bikes like the Sporty 883R!
Hey Bro, I have been riding for 50yrs now and only on a Harley! Ive owned 2 baggers and 5 Sportys in that time! I now ride a 08 XL883L Red Sporty with taxes paid and then some ;)> I have come to the conclusion that all the hype is just that, plain and simple! Ether you love the bike or not, period! I grew up on Harleys! the only other bikes around were Indian and Triumph/Norton/B.S.A.! Then in the late 60 the Jap bikes came along to cut into the market! The rest is History, lol! Today all bikes are up to par and run as good as it gets! Any size and type is a choice, not a girls bike or a he-mans bike, pure hype or envy, I say! Ride with pride and ride free is all that matters! Little Joe-Fl.
