According to the Saratogian, Harley riders in New York have stepped up on this Veteran’s Day with good intentions and beautiful bikes. Harley Davidson riders dressed in Santa hats and suits kickstarted Veterans Day by revving their engines for the annual U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots ride.
Beautiful fall weather attracted almost 200 riders to the event which began at Brunswick Harley and traveled through Troy, Lansingburgh and Albany to end at the Marine Corps center in Albany, delivering the unwrapped toys and monetary donations that were given.
Tom Hall and the Brunswick New York Harley Owner’s Group No. 3430 have been participating in this particular ride for over a decade. Hall said, “This is a huge kick off for the Toys for Tots program and it’s great to be a part of it.”
The Brunswick HOG Chapter has approximately 80 members who enjoy a variety of rides and events. Jeanne “Hell’n” Ginsburg, the owner of Brunswick-Harley and the sponsoring dealer of the event recognizes that the most important reason the ride takes place is for the kids.
“I believe we should do good things all year long and this ride helps so many kids and parents in need,” she said with a big smile on her face.
