I’m not sure what you mean about a splinter. I think it’s going to depend on how much you want to spend. If you are willing to spend a little more, I would get a 2007 or newer since 2007 was the first year that the Sportster had feul injection and no carburetor.

The fuel system i mean you drag out a splinter and more fuel comes in

So what will the difference be between a 2002 and 2007… It’s just like the normal Jap bikes right?

The Harley sportster didn’t come with fuel injection until 2007. if that is something you are loking for you’ll have to get a 2007 or newer. Paisteboy

Thanks, they are 2″ baffles.

I think you were trying to reply to naitzirc about definately wanting a newer fuel injected Harley. I already have one and he won’t see your comment unless you reply to his comment. Congrats on the new Harley JluvsKinMl. Paisteboy

You definitely want a newer fuel injected Harley! I bought a 2009 Nightster 1200 and am having the Vance and Hines Sideshots put on with the Screaming Eagle Heavy Breather! The fuel injected bikes are sooo nice, you don’t have to adjust anything…and they warm right up and take off!

i was thinking about geting a 96- or earlier… i mostly want a 2000 or newer but it depends what i can find..

12 paisteboy November 11, 2009 at 1:57 am

Yes. On all the newer ones.

13 naitzirc November 11, 2009 at 2:06 am

Wow are they like that on all harleys?

Cool anyways..

14 paisteboy November 11, 2009 at 2:08 am

It turns on the fuel injection. I am just waiting until it is done spraying the fuel in before I press the starter button.

15 naitzirc November 11, 2009 at 2:55 am

Another Question, what is that button you press before you start i know its the ” Killer ” that shut’s of the bike but why does it sound and you have to wait at first?

16 naitzirc November 11, 2009 at 3:40 am

Yo so i’ve been looking at the sites.. So the more ” on the bafflers the less bass comes out right?

Your pipes are wicked.. i if i get a sportster next year i’l get yours

17 naitzirc November 11, 2009 at 4:02 am

This is how i want a sportster to sound ! ++++

18 paisteboy November 11, 2009 at 4:25 am

Yes, Rush pipes are louder than screamin eagle. The parts guy told me that when I ordered them. I didn’t have to do anything else to the bike, just put on the slip-ons. Paisteboy

19 tim4298 November 11, 2009 at 5:08 am

hey, is rush pipes louder then the screeming eagle pipes? i have an 08 sportster 1200 low. i have screeming eagles on it but it is to quit for me. did you have to re programe your bike when you put thouse on?

20 paisteboy November 11, 2009 at 5:40 am

They are the Rush slip-ons and they have 2″ Baffles in them. They sound just as good in person. I am definately happy with the sound. I would recommend them for any Harley. Paisteboy

Are those 3″ pipes? I have the same bike. would like to get a set of those. Awesome sound!
