Friday Funny: Harley Skydiver

November 30, 2007

A Harley owner wanted to learn how to sky dive. He got an instructor and started lessons. The instructor told the Harley owner to jump out of the plane and pull his rip cord.

The instructor then explained that he himself would jump out right behind him so that they would go down together. The Harley owner understood and was ready. The time came to have the Harley owner jump from the air plane. The instructor reminded the Harley owner that he would be right behind him.

The Harley owner proceeded to jump from the plane and after being in the air for a few seconds pulled the rip cord. The instructor followed by jumping from the plane. The instructor pulled his rip cord but the parachute did not open. The instructor, frantically trying to get his parachute open, darted past the Harley owner.

The Harley owner seeing this yelled, as he undid the straps to his parachute, “So you wanna race, eh?”

Lets Be Honest, Why’d You Buy Your Harley?

November 29, 2007

There are many types of bikers that ride for many different reasons. But people that ride Harley’s usually have very specific reasons. Which of these reasons’ best fits the reason you bought a Harley instead of a Japanese or European bike?

  1. - It’s American, Dammit!
  2. - You know it’s a Harley before you can see it, unless it’s a VW without a muffler
  3. - It won’t seem like a mid-life crisis when you buy one because of a mid-life crisis
  4. - The cops will probably leave you alone because they won’t know if you’re a biker or a lawyer
  5. - Don’t need to know what fuel injection or ram-air induction is
  6. - People will always look at you, unless they’re jealous
  7. - Even the slow ones are cool
  8. - When you turn it on, it returns the favor
  9. - It vibrates like a pacemaker
  10. - It vibrates like a vibrator
  11. - Us fat bastards have to ride, too

What’s your reason?

Your Vote Could Send a Woman to Daytona

November 29, 2007

In case you haven’t been following H-D’s latest promotion, “Get Down to Daytona” has been quite a hit with the ladies.

More than 200 videos were submitted from a variety of women, all with interesting stories to tell. The six finalists’ videos show an assortment of experiences, such as a daughter and father reunited through riding after years of separation, a sister thanking her brother for inspiring her to ride, and a sisterly bond where the road is their escape from illness and the worry of being single moms. Also, see a daughter who is reminded of her father’s “no fear” message when she’s almost ready to give up, and a woman who thanks her boyfriend for helping fulfill a lifelong dream by grabbing the handlebars of her own Harley. Finally, see two friends who encouraged each other to ride and were there for each other each step of the way to becoming experienced riders.

The three women with the most votes will receive an expense paid road trip for two from Atlanta to Daytona with Karen Davidson, great-granddaughter of William A. Davidson, one of the Company’s founders, as well as three nights stay in Daytona, just in time for Bike Week.

The video clips are posted online here for viewer voting to begin. Visitors to the site can view each video and vote on their favorite to help send that woman rider and a guest to Daytona Bike Week ‘08. Voting will end December 12, 2007, and three winners will be announced December 14.
